Here’s a summary of the sessions last Sunday. These will also be posted online on the Parents Only Blog portion of the ministry website.

EDGE- Our session focused on the Mass. We discussed the importance of full, active, conscious participation at Mass. We also discussed the 4 ways Christ is present at Mass, the main one being Jesus’ true presence in the Eucharist. We have a tremendous opportunity as Catholics to learn more about the Mass each time we attend throughout the course of our lives. As part of our small group time we talked about ways to better prepare for and participate in the Mass because it is something we all struggle with from time to time.
What is one new thing you learned about the Mass tonight?
What is your “Mass Commitment” for the next four weeks?
How can our whole family support you in this commitment and/or participate alongside you?
Youth were challenged to keep in mind these messages...
Christ is present in four ways at Mass—1. In the person of the priest 2. In the congregation 3. In the Scriptures 4. In the Eucharist
Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist
The Church calls every member to full, active, conscious participation in the Mass.
EPIC– To get ready for Advent the young people made an Advent wreath to bring home to use with the family during Advent. The wreath has different small things you can do or pray each day of Advent. Maybe you could display it somewhere in the house so everyone can see it. The young people also were given a calendar with doors for each day of Advent they can open up with you to celebrate Advent.
